Brazilian Lemonade

Anyone who’s been to a Brazilian restaurant knows what this is.  It’s beautiful, it’s creamy, and it’s most certainly not made of lemons.  It is, in fact a limeade with a twist.  As it turns out, it is ridiculously easy to make, and extremely cheap (so take that restauranteurs).  I love the froth you get from the blending, and the pale lime color is simply beautiful.  Here’s how you can make this delicious and refreshing summer beverage at home.

3 C cold water

2 limes (cut into 6 wedges each)

1/3 C sugar

3 T sweetened condensed milk

Put all ingredients in a blender, pulse a few times, and strain through a fine mesh strainer and voila!  There’s no need to sit and squeeze a million limes like you would for a lemonade.  It’s very sweet as is, so if you’re sensitive to that you may want to consider cutting down the sugar a tad.  Also, make sure you consume it fairly quickly, since the limes can turn bitter.

Admittedly, this doesn’t make a ton of beverage, but it’s probably to your blender’s capacity so just make a couple of batches and you’re good to go.  Now hurry and make some before the cooling weather causes you to run out of an excuse!
