About Us
Amber is an avid home cook with several hundred hours of viewing cooking shows to validate her expertise. She is passionate about everything victuals – cookbooks, restaurants, new kitchen tools, interesting ingredients, food history books, testing new recipes, and the best part, eating. Speaking of which, a few of her favorite things include gouda, raspberries, basil, macadamias, asparagus, and bacon, even though it is hideously bad for you.
Bonnie is a bit of a schizophrenic in the kitchen, always searching for something new and different to try, never satisfied with recipes she already knows. Thankfully, her guinea pig husband doesn’t mind coming along for the ride. She loves to scour the web for the “best” of any particular recipe or technique. She loves French style cooking and ingredients and believes that just about nothing can top a perfectly roasted chicken. At odds with her love of cooking exciting food is her ingrained (thanks, mom!) desire to eat on a budget. The result is (usually) pretty tasty food for a good price. The arrival of her first child in 2007 prompted her to find ways of preparing healthy, delicious adult food that is also age-appropriate for her son. Working around a mom’s schedule has sometimes put a cramp in her cooking style, so she now focuses on meals that can be prepared rather quickly. She loves to entertain and will search for any kind of holiday or celebration to plan a menu around. Some of her favorite foods are very stinky cheeses, raspberries, rosemary, pears, crème sauces, and that American classic, macaroni and cheese.
